Copy Prompt Template to Your Private List

Before diving into the steps, you’ll want to start by copying the prompt template provided by Promptitude to your private list. This will allow you to customize it according to your needs.

Simply check the translation prompt, and click on the "Copy to prompts" button. This way, you can easily access and edit it later.


Step-by-Step Guide

1️⃣ Upload Your Glossary in Promptitude

The first step in ensuring accurate translations is to upload your glossary. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Prepare Your Glossary: Create a glossary in CSV format. This should include the terms you want to translate along with their corresponding translations.

  2. Access Content Storage: Log in to your Promptitude account and navigate to the Content Storage section.

  3. Upload the CSV File: Add a manual folder. Click on the "Upload" button and select your glossary file. Once uploaded, your glossary will be available for use in translations.

After uploading your content, it is automatically divided into small chunks. This helps in identifying and adding only the most relevant parts to your prompt. GPT prompts have a word limit, so chunking helps manage content size effectively.

  • Default Chunk Settings: Currently, you start with chunks of 150 words and an overlap of 20% to ensure smooth processing.

📌 However, when translating with a glossary in CSV format, you can disregard the chunk size configuration. The content is divided so that each chunk corresponds to one row, meaning one term and all its attributes, across the columns.


2️⃣ Inject Your Glossary into the Prompt

Now that your glossary is uploaded, it’s time to inject it into your translation prompt. Follow these steps:

  1. Open Your Prompt: Go to your private list and open the copied translation prompt.

  2. Configure Context Options: In the input tab, turn on "Add Context to Your Prompt" and select the "Use input variables" option.

Select {{source_text}} variable to search for relevant chunks. This allows the system to dynamically pull in terms from your glossary that match the text you will translate.

  • Choose appropriate folders and tags to filter content. (glossary location)

  • Set a content limit, adjust chunk and similarity settings for optimal results.

Define Input Variables: Set up variables such as {{source_text}}, {{source_language}}, and {{target_language}}. This will help the system understand what text to translate and how to apply your glossary.

📌 Keep in mind, it's all about trial and error. The more you experiment with your prompt, the better you'll become at adjusting parameters, content limits, similarity, and more to find the optimal settings.


3️⃣ Translate and Check the Accuracy

With your glossary in place, you can now proceed to translate your text.

  1. Run the Translation: Click on the "Generate" button. The system will process the text, using your glossary to ensure that the terms are translated accurately.

  2. Review the Output: Once the translation is complete, carefully review the output. Check the relevance of your injected content in the “Content” tab, where you can see the list of chunks selected by the AI and their similarity percentage to ensure efficient translation.

  3. Make Adjustments: If you notice any discrepancies or if certain terms were not translated as expected, you can go back to your settings and make necessary adjustments.
