Content storage is a powerful tool that allows you to upload your own unique content, such as knowledge base articles, podcasts, YouTube transcripts, website pages, and more, into Promptitude. This enables you to create prompts that automatically pull the most relevant information directly from your content, ensuring that your information stays safe, secure, and private.

In this help article, we'll walk you through the setup process, provide step-by-step instructions on how to use content storage, and share tips and tricks to help you get the most out of this feature.

Use Cases: How you can benefit from Content Storage

  • Create an in-app assistant based on your own knowledge base

  • Answer customer questions using only the information from your uploaded content

  • Access specific content from various sources, such as interviews, podcasts, or website pages

  • Keep your content organized and easily searchable

Setup: How to set up Content Storage

1️⃣ Sign up and log in to Promptitude: There's a free plan available, so you can try it out without any cost.

2️⃣ Go to the Content Storage area: This is where you can upload your own unique content.

3️⃣ Configure settings: Click Go to Settings and confirm the following two settings:

  • Maximum Chunk size: This determines how your content will be chopped up into smaller chunks. We recommend starting with a chunk size of 150 words.

  • Choose your AI connection: To create the most advanced vector embeddings, select the OpenAI connection from the AI Connections area. You will need to copy and paste your API key from OpenAI to enable this feature.

4️⃣ Save your settings: Click Save to confirm your settings and complete the setup process.

Step-by-Step: How to use Content Storage

Upload your content

1️⃣ Go to Content Storage: Click on the Content Storage tab.

2️⃣ Add content: Click the Add Content button.

3️⃣ Upload files: For now, you can only upload plain text (TXT) files. In the future, you'll be able to upload PDFs, Microsoft Office files, or directly link videos and podcasts. Click Upload and select the files you want to add.

4️⃣ Create a folder: To keep your content organized, create a folder for each type of content. This will also allow you to specify which folder to pull content from when building prompts.

5️⃣ Add tags (optional): You can add tags to your documents for more advanced organization. This can be useful if you want to pull content from specific tags when creating prompts.

Build your prompt

1️⃣ Go to Prompts: Click on the Prompts tab.

2️⃣ Create a new prompt: Click New Prompt and give it a name.

3️⃣ Write your prompt: Start by addressing the reader and providing instructions. Make sure to specify that the answer should be based only on the provided context.

4️⃣ Add input variables: Create input variables for the question and context. For the context variable, switch the type to Content Storage and specify the search query, folder, and maximum number of chunks and words to pull.

5️⃣ Insert variables into the prompt: Copy and paste the input variable names into the prompt using double curly brackets (e.g., `{{question}}` and `{{context}}`).

6️⃣ Generate the answer: Click Generate to execute the prompt and see the results.

Examples

Example 1: 🤖 In-app assistant

You can create an in-app assistant that answers questions based on your uploaded knowledge base articles, FAQs, and website content. By using content storage, you ensure that the assistant only provides answers based on the information you've uploaded, keeping your content secure and private.

Example 2: 🎥 Accessing interview content

If you have transcripts from interviews or podcasts that you'd like to access and search for specific information, you can upload the transcripts to content storage. Then, you can create prompts that pull the most relevant information from those transcripts, making it easy to find and share specific insights.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use folders and tags to keep your content organized and easily searchable.

  • Experiment with different chunk sizes to find the best balance between context and prompt length.

  • You can have multiple context variables in a prompt to pull content from different folders or sources.

  • Regularly update your content storage with new information to ensure your prompts remain up-to-date and relevant.

Conclusion

Content storage is a powerful and versatile feature that allows you to leverage your own unique content in your prompts.

By following this guide, you can set up content storage, upload your content, and create prompts that pull relevant information directly from your uploaded content. With content storage, you can build more accurate and context-aware prompts while keeping your information safe and secure.
