What is AI Chat?
AI Chat on Promptitude is a versatile chat interface that allows you to select from various AI providers or models to generate responses quickly. This flexibility lets you customize your results by choosing the best features from different AI providers or models. For instance, you might start with a model like Perplexity to extract current data, refine its tone with OpenAI, and create social media posts with Claude.
Possible Problems with Different AI Providers
📌 Images, Context and Tools
When using AI Chat, it's crucial to select a model that supports the specific functionalities you need:
Function Calls: Not all AI models support function calls. If you try to use this feature with a model that lacks support, you will receive an error. To avoid this, look for models marked with “(latest)” in Promptitude, such as GPT-4 Turbo, GPT-4o or GPT-3.5 Turbo with OpenAI or Anthropic's Claude 3 models, which are equipped with these capabilities.
However, some models support Context but lack support for Tools due to their unstable connection with external APIs. In contrast, Context, as an internal tool with Content Storage, can be managed effectively by Promptitude, such as Gemini 1.5 Pro.
Images: If your task involves processing images, ensure the AI model you choose can handle this. Selecting a model that doesn't support image functionalities will result in an error.
Example: GPT-4 Vision is a specialized model for image processing, providing excellent results in this area. However, when it comes to generating marketing texts, it may not deliver the same level of quality. Models like Claude 3, OpenAI's GPT-4 Turbo or GPT-4 Omni, and even Google AI's Gemini 1.5 Pro or Gemini 1.0 Pro Vision, possess image processing capabilities.
📌 Upload Files
When uploading files to AI Chat:
File Size: You can upload files up to 20MB, similar to what platforms like OpenAI's ChatGPT offer.
Token Limit: More critical than file size is the token limit of your document. Each document is converted to text and attached as context to your query. If the document's length exceeds the token limit of the selected AI model, you will face an error.
For example, while the Claude 3 model supports up to 200K tokens, older or less advanced models such as GPT-4 June 2023 version, only support around 8K tokens.
